Every year, thousands of women and girls human rights are violated due to the abortion laws in "El Salvador". The Salvadoran government is ultimately responsible for the death of women and girls as well as the violation of human rights of thousands of them by laws that forbid the abortion in El Salvador.
Statistics shows that many young ladies are raped by members of their family, many of those rapes ends up in pregnancy and death.
Amnesty International wanted to do something about it, so we created this campaign named "Mi Cuerpo Mis Derechos" where we showed this video of a young lady crying in an emergency room. A voice over related the story of this girl: "She is Julia, she's scared and afraid of taking a decision, she don't know what to do. Her uncle raped her and she ended up pregnant. Could you help her take a decision?" Immediately two boxes appeared asking the user to take a decision for Julia. The first one said 'Julia must continue her pregnancy.' the other one said 'Julia must interrupt her pregnancy.'. Once the user decided, no matter what the user clicked, a message appeared saying 'We are sorry, in El Salvador taking a decision is not a option.' followed by another message saying: 'In El Salvador women and girls can not decide about their sexual and reproductive rights.'
At the end we invited the people to sign this petition to El Salvador's government asking them to let women and girls decide what to do with their body's.
